September is Bordeaux Wine Month — the perfect time to explore one of the world’s most famous wine regions right here at Cavavin Buckingham. Whether you’re seasoned in Bordeaux’s wines or just beginning to discover its rich heritage, we have something just right for everyone this month.

Why Bordeaux?

Bordeaux, located in southwest France, is renowned for producing some of the finest red, white, and sweet wines in the world. Its unique blend of grapes, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc for reds and Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon for whites, creates wines with elegance, structure, and complexity.

Bordeaux Red Wines

This month, we’re highlighting several reds from top Bordeaux appellations:

• Saint-Émilion: Soft, fruity Merlot-dominant blends perfect for drinking now or aging.
• Médoc: Bold, tannic blends with lots of character, ideal for food pairing and aging.
• Pomerol: Rich and velvety with plush fruit flavours. Gastronomic wine; great for aging.

To pair with: Bordeaux reds are fabulous with grilled meats, hearty stews, and aged cheeses.

Bordeaux White Wines

Don’t overlook Bordeaux whites! Crisp and refreshing (like Chateau Maledan) with citrus and floral notes, they’re perfect for garden parties or evening sipping. We recommend:
